A bit about me

Jessica Torres received a Master's in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling at John Brown University. In her career she has advised and supported 200+ students in personal, academic and career development in the school setting. In private practice, she enjoys working with children, teens, and young adults as well as supporting parents of the children she works with by providing them with tools and psycho-education. Her kind and gentle nature allows her to build strong rapport and trust with her clients. Jessica is a Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy counselor with a passion for working with young minds!

As a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and Certified School Counselor, Jessica brings a unique perspective to addressing the challenges faced by youth. She understands the importance of these formative years and intervening early to promote positive mental health. Jessica draws from various evidence-based modalities to help her clients replace negative thinking, repetitive behaviors, and low self-esteem. Additionally, she helps guide parents on how to assist their child/teen to navigate difficult emotions and experiences.

Jessica is dedicated to empowering children, teens and young adults to develop resilience, coping skills, and lifelong healthy habits. She believes therapy is most effective when it fits the needs of the specific child and family. Jessica works with the client and parents to address concerns and develop a treatment plan that works. She provides her clients with the necessary tools to manage their symptoms so they are able to function at home, school and in healthy friendships.

"It doesn't get easier, you just get stronger" and Jessica is the one to assist you while you develop that strength!

A Movie I Could Quote By Heart

Pitch Perfect

Ideal Saturday

My husband and I would have a wonderful brunch at a restaurant that has a lot of gluten free options. After brunch, go for a walk on the riverwalk or hang out at Armature Works. Grab some Dunkin coffee, go to Target, TJ Maxx, and Home Goods. Cuddling up with my doggy Skye and watch some movies where we are crying from so much laughter!
